The Nighthawk is not just a cafe - we also provide live entertainment four days a week at our Mentone venue. We feature many of Melbourne's best bands and music artists playing in the genres of Blues, Rock'n'Roll, Soul, and Rhythm & Blues, as well as occasional interstate and international acts. We also host regular blues jams, open mike nights and Singles Nights.

Wednesday 10th March	BLUES JAM NIGHT 8:30pm - Late Free Entry An evening for budding Blues musicians to get up on stage and have a jam with each other. Everyone is welcome to come along and either listen, support, or play. Jammers - bring your guitars, amps, harps, voices, drumsticks and whatever instrument you play. P.A. supplied.

Thursday 11th March	Rock n' Roll- Rockabilly - Feature Band: Matt Dwyer & The Little Big Band 9:00pm – 12:30am $5 cover charge. This hard working musician can be found playing with his jazzy blues organ trio as well as fronting Matt Dwyer’s Little Big Band, both featuring some of Melbourne’s finest musicians.

Friday 12th March	Feature Band: "Continental" Robert Susz & Band 9:30pm – 1:00am $10 cover charge - 1/2 price entry with every main meal ordered Continental" Robert Susz from Sydney has been working his soulful vocal & harmonica stylings for the last 30 years. He had national chart success in the mid 80's with his tune, the SMASH HIT "SOUL KIND OF FEELING" with his exciting, hard touring, soul band THE DYNAMIC HEPNOTICS. This was followed by a decade with his next outfit THE MIGHTY REAPERS who were the funkiest Australian blues band of the 90's. They also released a half dozen award winning albums in Australia & the USA at that time.

Saturday 13th March	Feature Band: On Parole 9:30pm – 1:00am $10 cover charge - 1/2 price entry with every main meal ordered On Parole have four members from three existing working cover bands. Heart Beats Paul Southern and Paul Grant, Peter Newson of MLC (Mid Life Crisis) and Rad of Jelly Bean Addiction come together for only two shows a month playing hit songs from the 60’s 70's and 80's. A must see event.

Saturday 20th March	Feature Band: Thirdstone 9:30pm – 1:00am $10 cover charge - 1/2 price entry with every main meal ordered Three-piece band performing in the style of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan - heavy rock and contemporary blues.

Saturday 28th March	Feature Band: The Substitutes 9:30pm – 1:00am $10 cover charge - 1/2 price entry with every main meal ordered Australia's only 60'S BRITISH INVASION Cover band. The Substitutes have been around for about three years recreating that 60's excitement and rawness that often gets lost with cover bands.
